Best UGC of the Year: Extended Case Study on how National Geographic and Wattpad won a Digiday Content Marketing Award

Nine million tons of plastic waste flow into the ocean every year, doing irreparable damage to our world. In order to address this crisis, National Geographic launched a multiyear “Planet or Plastic?” initiative asking consumers to take a pledge to reduce their single-use plastic footprint.

Wanting to reach a younger audience, National Geographic joined forces with Wattpad with the aim of inspiring the next generation to do their part to protect the environment through a global writing contest. Download the extended case study to learn how the campaign generated over 6,000 story entries (double the campaign goal), and went on to receive a Digiday Content Marketing Award for 'Best User-Generated Content'
